The Safe December Program, which promotes a safe and sober holiday season, of the Fairfax County Police Department will be launched on 1st day Of December and will run through December 31st.
Primarily, the purpose of the program is to educate the public about the dangers of irresponsible alcohol use and underage alcohol purchases.
Specially-designated officers were commissione to arrest drunk drivers and will be roving around their specific areas of jurisdiction throughout the county every night. In addition, police cadets in plain clothing will attempt to purchase alcohol from retail and restaurant establishments across the county to thwart sales to underage drinkers.
If you plan to drink during the holidays, plan ahead and don't make the mistake of driving impaired alcohol. Your life, your future and the lives of others depend on your decision to not drink and drive.
