CORPS OF ENGINEERS BLAMES SEDIMENT FOR HUNTINGTON FLOODS
Full Description:
Sediment accumulated from decades' worth of construction runoff in Fairfax County (website - news) was the central cause of a June flood that damaged more than 100 homes in the Huntington neighborhood, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has found.
In a report made public Thursday night, the federal agency said the sediment had narrowed Cameron Run, a tributary of the Potomac River that flows through the area.
